Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. In this blog I wanted to tell you about an American reality show called Rupaul Drag Race.

It's a reality show about drag queens who each week must do different challenges and model in front of the iconic Rupaul, to win the title of America's Drag Superstar.

The show is produced, directed and hosted by drag queen Rupaul, who is also an actor, singer and songwriter. He is an icon for the drag world, when he signed a modelling contract with MAC he became the first drag queen supermodel, in fact he is considered the most successful drag queen in the USA.

The show has 13 seasons of which 12 are on the Netflix platform, the show has versions in different countries and other programmes have been released, such as All Stars where former participants of the reality show compete. The programme consists of two different challenges each week, the first is a mini-challenge, which are simple and short and finally they move on to the main challenge, these are varied, they can be dancing, singing, acting, costume design, comedy, among others.

Each chapter also has to parade on stage in different categories. After that, they choose the best and the worst of the week, a winner is chosen and the two worst must face each other in a lipsync in front of Rupaul and the jury and the loser is eliminated from the show.

The truth is that I love this show, it's super entertaining, you learn a lot about queer culture and you realise the talent and hard work behind every drag queen. Rupaul Drag Race is a hit in the USA and around the world and has won over 30 awards, including the Emmy Awards, where it has won 9 times in different categories, for me this is very important because, as part of the lgbtqi+ community I think this kind of TV show is important because it opens up a lot of spaces for people from the community, it gives them a voice and a place in a world that is still so full of homophobia.

here are some pictures of some of my favourite participants (not all of them because I have a lot haha)
