Is religion important to you?
For that question, I don´t have one answer, because in actually I am not part of any religion, because I dont believe in them, buuuuut my family is catholic (they never go to church, but they are considered catholic) and wen I was a child I went to catholic school even when I was 13 years old, actually. In those years I was baptized, I did my first communion and even I did the confirmation. For all those years I prayed every night, I thanked God and prayed for my family and friends. But with the over time, there were many things about catholic religion that didn't make sense to me, I think despises women and lgtbq+ communitty, also I lived many things that seemed unfair to me, like the death of my little cousin, he was seven years old and suffered a lot and the death of my best friend when we were 14 years old, I couldn´t understend why the good people suffers so much and I went away of religion.
Nowadays I thinks religions are used to control people, I don´t deny the existence of god or many gods (I like that idea more) but I don´t believe in religions, I like to think in the energy of the universe, in the karma and astrology (lol) and I oppose to the catholic religion, but I can´t deny what was important to me and that helped me to be who I am today.
Hello Cami, from what you said, I share your thought that instead of having a religion it is healthier to have a spiritual belief. Experiences of abuse within these doctrines are not uncommon.
